10 quick facts about MG

MG is originally a classic car brand from England (which actually turns 100 in 2024) that started out building sports cars. The brand was away from the market for a long time, but in the past few years it has re-emerged and started producing new, modern electric cars. The goal is to make affordable cars that make electric cars accessible to everyone, and not just those who are prepared to spend huge amounts of money on a new car.

1. MG stands for “Morris Garages” and began manufacturing cars as a separate sports car division of Morris Cars.

2. Nowadays, MG is owned by “SAIC Motor”. At Niemi Bil we already know SAIC Motor, as they are the ones who manufacture the Maxus, which we also sell.

3. Did you know that SAIC Motor produces over seven million cars per year, making them the world's seventh largest car manufacturer?

4. The British heritage of MG lives on through their design studio in London, which together with the studio in Shanghai decides how the cars will look, and we can probably sense some classic English lines in some of the models?

8. Initially, you will be able to buy your MG from us at Niemi Bil in Luleå and Umeå. But quite soon we will also be able to offer our customers in Skellefteå and Kiruna to buy their MG on site from their local car dealership. We will start selling MG in the spring of 2024 and expect to be able to sell it at all our facilities from the autumn of the same year.
