The Volvo V40 was produced from 2012 to 2019 and was Volvo's compact hatchback. When it was crash-tested in 2012, it received the highest Euro NCAP score ever, and was the first car in the world to feature a pedestrian airbag.
The V40 is easy to drive, economical and more sporty than larger Volvo models. The D2 and D3 diesels consume very little, and the T2 to T5 petrol engines cover everything from commuting to around 250 hp. The rear seat and luggage compartment are smaller than in a V60, so a used Volvo V40 is best suited for single households, couples or as a second car. The raised V40 Cross Country is available for those who want to sit a little higher.
