Buying a car is one of the biggest purchases you make in your life, and it often involves a considerable amount of money. Regardless of the year, model, paint color, or type of car you choose, we believe you want to keep your car's value as high as possible, for as long as possible. Here are some tips for maintaining the value of your car!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Regular service<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A service usually means that the engine oil that lubricates all the moving parts in your engine is replaced along with the oil filter, and sometimes other work is also done, such as changing brake fluid or cabin filter, to keep the car in good condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most modern cars automatically remind the owner when a service is approaching, then the car calculates both the time and mileage since the last service - whichever is reached first. Exactly what a service involves depends on the car manufacturer's estimated lifespan of various fluids, filters, parts and the like. The workshop can help you find out what applies to your particular car, if you cannot find it in the car's manual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Choose parking carefully<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It may be tempting to park as close to the store as possible to save time and energy. However, it may be a good idea to park your nice car a little further away from the entrance to avoid door slamming and parking damage from other car owners who likely also want to park as close to the entrance as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parking on a lawn repeatedly or for a long time can be bad for your car because the damp grass leads moisture to the undercarriage and causes it to rust faster, this is especially true where the grass is a little longer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Regular washing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sand, dirt and road salt are three enemies when it comes to keeping your car in good condition because these three bind moisture, leading to rust and discoloration of the car's paint and underbody.
Even rainwater is more acidic (has a lower pH value) than regular tap water and also leads to rust, and can discolor aluminum trim on your car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the summer, we've probably all experienced the front of our cars being completely covered in insects while driving on the highway. What many people don't know is that insects contain an enzyme that, combined with sunlight, can corrode permanent marks on your paintwork in as little as a few days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you regularly wash your car with the right degreaser for the season, shampoo with car shampoo, and rinse out the wheel arches and undercarriage as best you can, your car will be much better protected from rust and burnt-in dirt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you also wax or protect the car's paint from time to time, washing the car will be easier and more enjoyable when the water runs off much more easily than on a car with more worn paint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Splash guard<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Mudflaps are a cheap and easy-to-install product that will keep your car in better condition for longer and also keep it cleaner between washes. They are usually attached with a few plastic plugs to the car's inner fender and sometimes a single screw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mudguards minimize the number of pebbles and sand thrown directly from the tire and onto the car's side skirts and rear bumper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Light-colored cars that have been around a little longer without mudguards often have large areas on the side skirts and bumper where the paint is completely worn away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
